With the media continuing to follow the progress of the current real estate buyer's market, the Wall Street Journal This Morning radio show recently did a short breakdown on how to sell your home with home auctions.
I had the opportunity to speak briefly with Gordon Deal on how the 5 Day Method has the home auction flavor, but differs in the traditional "out cry" auction.

Yesterday was the day of my latest 5 Day in America Conference Call. I was extremely pleased and surprised to find myself facing, not only a larger audience than I am used to, but especially one with specific questions that, because of their nature involving current issues in the real estate market, were extremely beneficial for multiple callers on the line. The call proved to be one of the more successful that we have had in recent months.
One question that came up involved conducting the sale in what we call a 'buyers' market.' This is the turn the real estate industry has been in for quite some time now, where we are seeing more homes for sale than there are buyers. It is a valid concern for homeowners, and is a situation a 5 Day Sale can be successful in.

This past Thursday, July 13th, 2006, I was an interviewed guest of Gerri Detweiler on EveryDayWealth Radio. The interview ran for 10 minutes, and covered the first basic steps on how to begin planning your own 5 Day sale. I also describe how I first got into conducting these sorts of home sales by originally spotting the book on TV 13 years ago.
I was very happy to also have the opportunity during the show to explain how this method works in both 'good' markets - the ideal situation to sell - but also how it works in a 'slow' market - what we are experiencing now.
Ms. Detweiller has been nice enough to provide a link to the segment, which you can listen to by clicking here.

I had the pleasure of being interviewed during Weekend Live with Brian Wilson on Fox News recently, which ran over the weekend of July 1st and 2nd. It was a short, 3 minute clip, and as you can see from my media page not my first stint on national news. Boy, was I nervous, though! I had prepared for a 5 minute spot on the show, and at the last minute was told that I would be condensed into three.

My family and I inherited a home and we had to sell it as quickly as possible for a few reasons. It was well worth it to use this spectacular method! The house sold for $610,000 which we believe to be a very fair price for us and the buyer. It gave me the chance to meet a lot of nice people and learn alot myself. It was so successful, I am using it again on another property I own in FL. Thanks for this great book!

We live in Silicon Valley where the median price for a home is $550K, homes sell in short period of time for the asking price if not a little more. We placed our ad in the local paper and the flat fee MLS. Almost all of the calls before the open house were from realtors. Most of them angry that I was not paying commission and let me know that they would not show my house. We used the 5-day signs, which I wouldn't sell my house without them. They make you look like a professional and boy do they get peoples attention! The signs drove in the drive by traffic and created a traffic slow down in front of my house from everyone wanting to read them.
On Saturday we had about 40 people (buyers not realtors) come thru, which we thought was a sucess. But on sunday it rained (literally) and then it poured and about 100 people came to our open house in the rain. We have a small house, and there were so many people in our house they had to walk sideways to get down the hall. Although we had almost all real estate calls, when the weekend came we had almost all buyers in our house and very few realtors.

Hello George,
We had our open house last Sat. and Sun. May 6th and 7th. And we sold our home! The sale went very well! The market here has changed...I don't know much about real estate, but I was told that compared to last year, there are 5 times the homes on the market. Therefore, many were very skeptical that I could sell our home in a weekend for a fair price...but we did.

My house was for sale for 12 months. We thought we were going to be sleeping in the car due to the many mortgage payments we faced on an empty home.
I found GeorgeCappony.com.
I called George Cappony.
He helped me replace skepticism with optimism.
I hired George Cappony to consult on site. He came and did exactly what he said he would do, which was far more than I anticipated.
George helped me sell my house for $685,000 in a neighborhood with an average of $450,000-appraised homes...in one weekend. If you doubt me, look me up and call me.
The local newspaper did a feature article on my company, Tyson Homes, and the Best Bidder Sale from start to finish. I am not a wordy man and like to get to the point, and be simple with the facts. You can read the article for yourself here.

One of the toughest challenges is to sell a high-end house in a neighborhood without comparable properties and recent sales of like properties. That's what Hyatt Lake Home was. A $2.3 million home that wasn't quite complete and headed for foreclosure. A "top" Realtor showed it three times in six months prior to our controlling the property and hadn's had a showing in over two months. So we took it on and dismissed the Realtor.

I wouldn't know what to do if I had to sell today without the 5 Day Sale method. It's been about 6 months since I sold my house using the 5 Day method in Teaneck and let me tell you...the market's much slower now than it was back then. I wouldn't know what to do if the 5-day sale method didn't exist and I had my house on the market. I would start by panicking.
